Hummus

Both Dave and I have come to love so many different kinds of food. From your basic home baked goodness to sushi. With that comes trying different things to find out if we like them or not. One of the things we have just started making...although this is not new to either us, making it is. Hummus.. We went to Sages Cafe in Salt Lake the other day and we got these Hummus burgers that were AMAZING. So I will share with you our recipe, all in thanks to Ness and Cooks Illistrated we have created what Dave and I like.

Riccio's Hummus

1 can chic peas/cici beans/garbonzo beans (these are all the same thing
1 spoon of Tahini (see the brand we buy below)
1-3 tbls of olive oil (depending how thick you like it)
1-3 cloves of minced garlic (the more you put the more heat it gives it and the garlicy..of course it is)
pinch of salt
Red pepper flakes... go easy on these when you let it sit these will make it hotter.
Mash the beans with the olive oil and tahini until a smooth but a thick consistancy, then add all the rest of the goodness and let sit for 30 minutes. Then eat up! We like to eat it with pita bread or naan.
